Dialogue and relations between painting and photography of the 19th century

The exhibition aims to describe and investigate the relation existed between Italian painting and photography in the 19th century through analyses and in considering Italian private collections. In this exhibition is highlighted the close relationship and mutual influence of these two arts: photography, which is a tool of detailed perception of reality, is able to freeze movements by stopping a scene in time and space; painting, which was stimulated by the exactness of the photographic detail and was therefore driven to invent a new artistic language, opened the door to modern art.
